Raymond Savignac (1907-2002) is a poster artist best known for his clever, happy images. He began his artistic career making cartoons for advertising films. In 1935, Savignac met the famous poster artist, Cassandre, and worked as an assistant until Paris was occupied in WWII. While his style differs from Cassandre's purist deco work, like Cassandre, Savignac's posters generally involve a solo figure, human or animal.
