Dharrabu Canvas Art Print

Urban Road

Artist: Amanda Hinkelmann

ARTWORK STORY

This artwork represents the way in which Aboriginal peoples have lived from the land for many thousands of years. The ways Mother Earth has nourished our people and cared for them by providing an abundance of bush tucker. The bush tucker used by Aboriginal peoples. It represents the way in which country provides for the people and the animals that live there, and the way in which the peoples take only what they need, to ensure there is always enough food for both the people and animals on Country. It was the role of the woman to forage for berries, fruits, and native herbs. They would collect these items carefully, teaching the young as they went which foods were able to be collected and which were better left alone. There are representations within this artwork of lemon myrtle, wattle seeds, Kakadu plum, desert quandong, wattles and river red gum.

ARTIST STORY

Born on Wiradjuri Land in Wagga Wagga, Amanda is an exceptionally passionate and talented Aboriginal artist who has been creating breathtaking original artworks from her studio under the moniker ‘Because of my Four’ for many years now. Amanda’s artworks share stories of resilience, strength, and the power of women. She draws inspiration from her hometown of Wagga Wagga, her family, and the Dreamtime - displaying Aboriginal culture and storytelling in her own contemporary Aboriginal art style, developed through impatience, intuition, and an innate desire to create at all costs.

Urban Road's stretched canvas fine art prints are professionally printed on polycotton artist canvas, using archival inks and then stretched and gallery wrapped. This means the image is stretched around a 38mm frame to create a seamless, museum-quality finish.

We also offer the option to add a shadow box frame to your Urban Road canvas art print. A little different from a traditional framed print, the canvas sits within the box frame with a 5mm gap, creating a sophisticated shadow effect between the frame and the canvas. Our solid timber box frame mouldings are 10mm wide, and 55mm deep, and add approximately 40mm to the length and height of the listed canvas size.

All stretched and box framed art prints arrive ready to hang.

Please note it takes 7-10 days for production of your order prior to dispatch.
