DECEITFUL CURRAWONG
An outdoor tapestry, ‘Deceitful Currawong’ was born out of re-interpreting traditional methodology of fine handcrafted embroidery cross-pollinated with industrial scale materials. The Currawongs distinctive calls evoke memories of my childhood spent exploring Victoria’s High Country. Opportunistic by nature, their warblings can be heard throughout the city as they scavenge for food amongst the ever increasing spikey, concrete skyline. It portrays the inner fiend peeking out with their piercing, captivating, yellow eyes.
The 1200mm dia artwork is constructed of a perforated aluminium 'canvas', black/grey/white marine grade rope, anodized aluminium frame. Ready to hang.
