Last year we got earthy and embraced “new beginnings” with Green. This year, world colour authority Pantone have chosen Ultra Violet as their Colour of the Year - so expect to see it popping up in homewares and fashion trends over the coming months.

“The Pantone Color of the Year has come to mean so much more than ‘what’s trending’ in the world of design; it’s truly a reflection of what’s needed in our world today,” says Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, Laurie Pressman.

They say they chose the colour because it “communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us towards the future.”

And let’s face it, in these uncertain times, we could all use a bit of ‘visionary thinking’!
