Everything you need to know ahead of our Grand Opening

The wait is almost over until the Blockheads are let loose in the biggest block ever. But before the art deco doors swing open for renovation, we've put together a list of everything you need to know about our Blockheads, the vault and the historical Port Melbourne site.    

We have five couples competing against each other for the Block crown, they are: Married couple of 30 years Dan and Carleen, engaged high school sweethearts Will and Karlie, partners Julia and Sasha, husband and wife Chris and Kim, and best mates Ben and Andy. 

The site was the offices of J. Smith Kitchen & Sons soap and candle factory in the 1920s and, for its time, was one of the most up-to-date offices in the Commonwealth.

The Blockheads range in age and skill, some stacking up better for The Block than others, in what’s set to be the most ambitious build yet.

One couples’ apartment contains The Vault, a concrete bunker sealed by a door that weighs more than all the Blockheads combined. 

Host Scott Cam has teased this season as a real treat, with the sheer size of the building leaving him in ‘shock’. “The word we’ve been using is epic, that’s what it’s going to be.” Scott said.
