These young lovers have thrown themselves into The Block with the hope of making some money to buy their first home. Just don’t mention babies yet to Josh. Charlotte is a self-proclaimed control freak, but she sees it as a positive and subscribes to the belief that you only get out what you put in. Josh approaches his work hands-on: he wants to be in the thick of it and believes his willingness to hard work, coupled with a “nothing is impossible attitude”, will hold them in good stead on The Block. Josh has more renovating experience than Charlotte. As a chippy he has worked on everything from small cash jobs to $10 million luxury homes. Charlotte’s work as a food stylist sees her designing tables as features at events and functions, where she draws on her natural ability to “visualise the potential in different spaces”. With slightly different individual styles they will have to work through some big questions, like who gets the final say on The Block. Josh leans towards an “industrial modern vibe” and loves heavy woods, exposed concrete and brickwork. Charlotte digs recycled timber and furniture and believes her signature look combines timeless French interiors with a slightly modern industrial look, but she isn’t a fan of anything too modern.
