A beautiful and relatively compact member of the Jungle Cacti tribe, Rhipsalis ewaldiana makes a great plant to soften up a cold, hard stone benchtop as the stems are short enough that they don't need to hang or drape over the edge of a shelf. They produce a mass of multi-branched, thin, triangular stem sections. The new growth produced from the tips of each stem will be light green to yellow-orange in colour, darkening to amatte green as it matures. Like pretty much all Jungle Cacti this beauty is super easy to care for!

Watering

Water when the top 2-3cm of soil in the pot dries out during the Spring and Summer months. Water much less during Autumn and Winter. This Cacti is happy to remain on the drier side so if in doubt let it dry out!

Position

As it has adapted to life in under the rainforest canopy it likes bright indirect light and humidity but will also handle a bit of shade. Don't place this guy where it will get direct sunlight as the foliage will burn easily. Great for kitchens or bathrooms that get a bit of natural light.

Managing growth

These guys currently have a mass of stems that are approximately 15 to 20cm long. They look amazing in any handmade ceramic pot, especially when paired with a large leaved Hoya or another Jungle Cactus with chunkier stems like Rhipsalis platycarpa!

Greeting your Rhipsalis ewaldiana

These plants are posted in a 1.5L nursery pot that will fit into any ceramic pot from our classic pot range. If you purchase a ceramic pot for this guy they will be delivered together in our specially designed, plastic free packaging.
