Studio 1113
Studio1113 is my home-based studio set amongst a beautiful bush setting in Northwest Sydney. Since living here, I have become more aware and in awe of our native trees and how they speak to us through their sheer beauty, textures and the secret messages they send to us through scribbles.
My love and enchantment for our Australian landscape is evident in the colour, freedom of application and raw vitality emanating from the intricate details in my mark making. Because of the time-consuming nature of applying literally thousands of lines, I somewhat slip into a mediative state whilst painting, and I invite my audience to sit and observe my works to encounter mindfulness. I hope to capture and invoke those precious moments when we take time out to communicate this closely with nature.
