They've all been there and done that - they've sat in the hot seat next to Scotty Cam on Auction Day (and some of them more than once!)... So who do they think will win this years series of The Block?
DANI WALES (The Block 2012 & All Stars 2013)
Who should win?
If I was a betting woman, I’d say Josh and Elyse, with Sarah and Jason a close second.
Why should they win?
“I’d like to see Josh and Elyse win as I feel they put in 110 per cent every day and got the job done. Their house is beautiful and, in my opinion, has the best finishes. That’s something I really appreciate - it’s hard to do properly on a show like The Block, where timeframes are so tight.”
What has been your favourite room, artwork or design element?
I loved Ronnie and Georgia’s final guest bedroom. I loved every element (apart from the rug). It was unique, creative and perfectly executed.
BEN TOYNE (The Block 2016)
Who should win?
I want Clint and Hannah to win (Reno Rookies all the way!), but I think Josh and Elyse might.
What’s been your favourite thing about this season?
‘Pool Gate’ has been awesome to watch unfold!
Have you had a favourite room, artwork or design element?
The best room I saw was Sticks and Wombat’s studio space - those skylights were amazing.
KARA DEMMRICH (THE BLOCK Fans V Favs 2014)
Who should win?
I thought it was out of Ronnie and Georgia and Josh and Elyse, but I have a feeling Jason and Sarah might be a dark horse in the competition.
What’s been your favourite thing about this season?
I love the fact the homes have been transported and given a new lease on life.
What has been your favourite room, artwork or design element?
I loved Josh and Elyse’s living room.
LARA CRANFIELD (WINNER OF THE BLOCK 2012)
Who should win?
I’d like to see Sticks and Wombat or Josh and Elyse win - but I think it will be Josh and Elyse.
What’s been your favourite thing about this season?
The transformation of the old houses. We have done three relocations and seeing the beautiful old houses come back to life is amazing.
Have you had a favourite room, artwork or design element?
I loved the floral wallpaper that Hannah and Clint and Ronnie and Georgia used in their rooms. Also the detailing Josh and Elyse used to bring the heritage elements of their house back.
ALISA FRASER (The Block Sky High 2013 & The Block Fans V Faves 2014)
Who should win?
Ronnie and Georgia - I love how real they are! But Elyse and Josh or perhaps Sarah and Jason will end up winning - they’ve been the dark horse of the comp.
What’s been your favourite thing about this season?
The fact they have gone back to homes instead of apartments. It’s a nice change.
Have you had a favourite room, artwork or design element?
My favourite room was Elyse and Josh’s living and dining, and Sarah and Jason’s kitchen.
CARLENE DUFFY (The Block Glasshouse 2014)
Who should win?
I love a good underdog story, so I'd love Sticks and Wombat to win but it's not likely. I think Ronnie and Georgia may take this one out.
What’s been your favourite thing about this season?
Ronnie and Georgia - their on-screen interactions have been very entertaining.
Have you had a favourite room, artwork or design element?
I really loved Jason and Sarah's entrance - it had the right balance of modern and classical, and made a really lovely first impression. If only they’d finished! I also loved Josh and Elyse's backyard (those curved steps!).
BEC DOUROS (The Block Sky High 2013)
Who should win?
Ronnie and Georgia - but I think Josh and Elyse may win.
What’s been your favourite thing about this season?
The houses! I've loved that they have returned to the original format.
Have you had a favourite room, artwork or design element?
I think all the couples have done a great job. I’ve I have loved Ronnie and Georgia’s styling the most this season. And I loved the Anya Brock artwork they used in the hallway. I also thought the hallway in Jason and Sarah's house was pretty amazing too!
SOPHIE VINE (The Block 2012)
Who should win?
I think Josh and Elyse should win.
What’s been your favourite thing about this season?
The fact that they're stand-alone houses.
Have you had a favourite room, artwork or design element?
I’ve loved the front heritage facades.
