Adrian Portelli spent over $12 million at The Block Auctions in 2023, all to prove he was never a dummy bidder back in 2022, and what a way to do it!
Take your mind back to The Block auction in 2022, we saw a new face at The Block Auctions, Adrian Portelli, founder of LMCT+ went into aa bidding war with Block regular Danny Wallis. Danny ended up the winner and purchased The Block House 5 from Omar and Oz, and Adrian went on to buy House 3 from Sharon and Ankur after the auction.
There was lots of media about it and people were curious wether or not Adrian was a serious bidder or had the funds to buy up at The Block?
"For everyone questioning the legitimacy of the auction, I was a genuine buyer with every intention to purchase that property," he wrote in an Instagram story back in 2022.
"Nobody is to blame for what happened. It's an auction."

Well insert The Block 2023 auction where Adrian Portelli now owns three of the five houses. In a rollercoaster of an auction Adrian took home the winning house, House 4 from Steph and Gian, House 5 from Eliza and Liberty and House 1 from Kyle and Leslie.
Adrian reminded his instagram followers that he is infact very capable of purchasing the properties, taking House 4's bid from $4mil to $5mil in one bid! This was a move that knocked buyers advocate Frank well and truely out of the race on this one, and showed the crowd he meant business this year.
Adrian meant business at The Block 2023 auction and he was taking no prisoners!
“It's an incredible feeling. We are so overwhelmed right now and can't believe it. It was such a surreal day, and to end on such a high like this after all the hard work is amazing. We are so grateful that Adrian Portelli saw something in our house which we love so much. This will change our lives." the couple said.
“We have no idea what we are going to do with the money yet. It’s going to clear our debts in Sydney. It’s going to set us up for whatever the next stage is. It’s just unbelievable.”

Coming second on the day were sisters Eliza and Liberty in House 5, whose house sparked a battle between Adrian and Danny again.
Going for another knockout win again, Adrian bid against himself at one point just to make it clear he was out to secure the house, with an amused Danny conceding.
That gave Eliza and Liberty a million dollar profit, far in excess of what they had dreamed.
“Who wins that kind of money?” Eliza asked as she tried to process what had happened.
Moving to House 1, the bidders were again beaten by Adrian, who paid $3.1 million for Kyle and Leslie’s home, giving them a profit of $130,000.
“I got the hat trick!” Adrian joked.
“Just wow,” Kyle replied.
"I got the hat trick" said Portelli after the five houses had completer their auctions.
