Check out Josh and Jenna’s latest renovation project - a cute little 1950s beach shack on the Great Ocean Road.
The couple, who competed on two series of The Block, first in 2011, then on The Block All Stars in 2013, announced they had purchased the small cottage in Skenes Creek in Victoria, back in October, accompanying a photo of the shack with the caption: “The first of many memories to come.”
Two and a half hours west of Melbourne, along Victoria’s famed Great Ocean Road, the home sits on 962m2 and is in in largely original condition - which was entirely its charm.
“We recently purchased a quintessential 1950’s beach shack on the Great Ocean Road in a little surf town called Skenes Creek. The property is 100 meters from the ocean with views from every window,” the couple wrote on their Facebook page.
“The home itself is a modest, 2 bedroom shack but that’s why we fell in love with it! We have our city pad and we wanted a low maintenance escape where we can spend time and create memories as a family.
“We want to maintain the soul of the shack, wonky ceilings and all! We will install new flooring, kitchen and fireplace, update the bathroom, fresh paint inside and out and style it with our vintage furniture collection.”
The couple, who welcomed daughter Freddie back in June, recently posted about their first stay at ‘The Bicker Beach Shack’ in early November.
“We spent the evening watching the sunset and the dogs run around. This part of the world is where the ocean meets the green rolling hills and we really have found our paradise!” the couple wrote.
Josh and Jenna plan to spend part of next year renovating their home, but have listed it for holiday rental over the summer months.
We can’t wait to see what they have planned!
