The Block's Foreman Keith rushed to hospital

The Block's foreman Keith has been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after an infection in his hip has spread throughout his leg.

Keith updated fans on his instagram account that he was diagnosed with an infection of his hip.

"Ten years ago I had a full hip replacement," he said. "Last Friday I was diagnosed with an infection in that hip and I was rushed in for a three hour operation to remove the components that were easy to remove and those components were replaced.

"Unfortunately, the infection has spread throughout my whole left leg. Since the operation I have been receiving antibiotics intravenously every 8 hours."

He added that if the antibiotics don't work, he will have the remaining components removed and "basically have another full hip replacement."

"Fingers crossed the antibiotics beat the infection otherwise I'm in serious trouble," he said.

Thankfully for Keith he isn't expected on set with production of The Block kicking off in the coming weeks. Keith has again decided to stand back from his  full-time duties on the show this season to spend more time with his family.

Let's however hope Keith makes a quick discovery so he can pop up to Daylesford for a cameo or two!
