The Block Shop Ladies top tips for self care in 2022

Self Care… we all know how important it is but in these busy times we need to encourage it even more.

Insider Style speaks to the team from The Block Shop, this power house is run by two superhuman mums, Emma Garland and Sarah Armstrong, and has attracted a strong team of like minded women to come along for the ride.

I might be a little biased but there's no ego here, no hierarchy, just a team of women building each other up, and supporting each other to do the best they can for this little business. Sounds like a dream right.. Pinch me!

So let's see how these strong, powerful women indulge in some self care…

First up, Emma, The Block Shop’s Chief Everything Officer and Boss Lady.. A busy mum to two children and about to embark on her daughter's high school years, send help! This super woman says her secret to her calm is, “I light a candle  - her current fave is Mitch and Mark Country , with her yoga mat rolled out Emma takes 30 minutes first thing every morning for herself to just be”

Sarah, Our resident Block Informant, Mum to two, organizer to many and creative genius says her secret to success is looking after herself.

"For me it’s all about smells. Aroma whether in a diffuser or soap - they really make a difference to my life and general well being! I love Aspar products… there's something to be said for beautiful products like these, it's the small things throughout the house that set me up for success with my self care” 

No job's too big or too small for Supermum Sarah Armstrong, her current favourite self care products are Aspar Relax Essential Oil and Botanical Hand Wash.

Next up is “our Jen”, commonly called our Marketing Guru, but mostly everyone at The Block Shop’s go to girl, she’s the master of a spreadsheet and all round super human, when she's not wrangling her two boys, she's taking her time to have a bath, although none of us are sure when she fits that in as she seems to be working at least 20 hours per day! She also has a hot tip for her fellow Block Shoppers as we embark on 2022, she rates the Fit Smart Bathroom scales very highly, she is absolutely loving hers!

Jen's fave bath accesories are Trio of baskets , Green Clay Face Mask, Bath Caddy  , Loom Towels  , Stool.  I'm relaxed just looking at this heavenly set up.

Holly is our Customer Happiness Expert, but what makes this busy mum of two happy “a cuppa or a gin” that's what fills her cup…. Holly's top picks are The Pantone Mug for her cuppa and the Indian Tonic for her Gin. Enjoy Hol, because you spend all day filling everyone else’s cup up!

Carolyn, our resident beach girl, customer service guru and head mum, she's been there and done that and has all the worldly advice us newer mums need, Carolyn says her downtime is, no surprises here…. Beach time!

You will see her at her local beach tucked under her Beach Umbrella on the Avalon Folding Chair, such a beautiful combo and her kids are old enough to take their own snacks and don’t need any supervision…. Oh one can dream!

Renee is our night owl and customer service guru after dark, also a mum there's no surprises that she needs a power nap occasionally and you can find her under this beautiful cashmere throw.

Nadia, our all things The Block customer service guru go-to girl can be found spending her me time enjoying a good book and cup of tea, on her super beautiful set up, which includes her Black Mango Hampton Chair and Rustic Timber Stool. Shes an expert renovator herself and knows how to enjoy the good things in life.

Jessie is our Social’s Girl, and resident art guru, her self care routine is “I’m all about the placebo effects of Crystals, if drinking from a crystal water bottle gives me more clarity I’ll do it." Jessie's current faves for self care from The Block Shop are her water bottle, facial roller, and the amazing rose quartz slab.

Lastly for me, it's a candle when the kids are asleep, its lights out and a good social’s scroll for my self care. I'm all about The Commonfolk candles at the moment....we go through candles at a rapid rate whilst they burn for hours on end every evening.

Oh and artwork… I treat myself to one piece every year…. Because we deserve a splurge for working so hard, right? This years pick... replicating that AH- MAZING hall way from Ronnie and Georgia featuring Lizzy Stageman and Jai Vasicek artworks, but Im thinking PINK!
