Neale is packing his bags and going bush!

Block judge Neale Whitaker and partner David have just purchased a stunning country retreat in rural New South Wales.
We all dream of a treechange. And for Block judge Neale Whitaker and partner David Novak-Piper, that dream is now a reality, with news the couple recently purchased a gorgeous rural property in the stunning country town of Berry.
“David and I have had a long-term dream for the best part of 10 years now, about moving to Berry,” Neale recently told Insider Style.
“It’s on the lower South Coast, and it’s been a place we have been going back and forth to for the last decade.
“Suddenly the perfect house in the perfect location came up, and I didn’t want it to slip through our fingers.”
The property in question is a gorgeous four bedroom older-style home, situated just outside of the township - the couple purchased the property in May of this year for a reported $1,837,500.
The idyllic country-style residence, set on acreage, has a divine outlook, with rolling pastures and the nearby Bundewallah Valley and escarpment viewable from every window.
As well as ample room within, it also boasts a double garage with studio, large workshop space, farm shed and stock yard, plus a 2.5 acre horse paddock adjacent.
Its a radical departure for Neale and David, self-confessed city-siders, who have spent the past decade residing in inner-city Sydney.
The pair recently placed their gorgeous warehouse apartment in Alexandria on the market with an asking price of $1.6 million, and are in the throws of relocating their lives to Berry, a two and a half hour drive from Sydney.
“We will have Berry as our main home,” Neale explains. “But, realistically, I will have to keep a little apartment in Sydney.
“It could be a studio or one-bedder, for when I am at the peak of my flying around the country (as well as The Block, Neale is also kept busy filming the successful Foxtel series, Love it or List It).
“I don’t mind driving, but I certainly wouldn’t want to be doing it every day of my life. But, yes, we want the South Coast to be our main home.”
The couple plan on doing extensive work to the property in the months to come - but they’re in no hurry to get cracking just yet.
“It may need a bit of renovation over time, but it’s very liveable now … we can just move in and enjoy the amazing views,” Neale recently told the Sunday Telegraph.
