Midweek Minute: Week 5

Alisa and Lysandra stormed out of the gates with a win in Week 1, but since then, The Block: Fans V Faves has definitely tested them. After a shattering result in the Bathroom Room Reveal, this week, they’re back at their best, robbing Fans Kyal and Kara of a hat-trick with their grand, near-perfect kitchen.

So who better to chat with for this week’s Midweek Minute than one of our Kitchen Queens, Lysandra?

Lysandra, what was it like to finally score another win?
[Laughs] It was definitely a relief. We felt a lot of pressure going into this week. We’re the Kitchen Queens, and we could’ve lost that title. After last week’s result, a win was important to us. And as they say, if there’s a week to win, it’s Kitchen Week.

Do you have a favourite part of your room?
We love the rendered walls, and the artwork is pretty amazing. And the lights were a great finishing touch.

What do you think of the other kitchens?
Kyal and Kara’s kitchen is obviously really nice, they did a great job and I really like their glass splashback. The boys… they were harshly scored. I don’t like the round edge [of their counter top], and there are elements I like and elements I don’t, but overall, it’s pretty nice. Chantelle and Steve’s room is fine, but it doesn’t really work for me.

Are you excited for the Auction?
It’ll be nice to get to the Auction and lay this all to rest. It’s been great, but it’s time. It’ll be hard to say goodbye to the house, but this will make a great home.
