Congrats Gav and Waz!

Original Block contestants Gavin Atkins and Warren Sonin have tied the knot - and we couldn’t be more thrilled for them.

Australia fell in love with them way back in 2003 when they took part in the first ever series of The Block, renovating a tiny apartment in the Sydney beachside suburb of Bondi.

Now, 15 years later, Gav and Waz have made their relationship official - tying the knot in a low-key ceremony at their property in rural Queensland.

“We wanted our wedding to be a private, intimate, laid-back ceremony on our secluded country property 15 minutes outside of the resort town, Noosa Heads,” the couple told The Daily Telegraph.

According to reports, the couple walked down the aisle to Lana Del Ray’s hit ‘Young and Beautiful’ wearing Calibre suits. Their rings were designed by French designer Evan Sugerman - and their cute Jack Russell Charlie officiated as their “flower doggie”!

The boys were phenomenally popular from the moment they debuted on the show, the first openly gay couple to appear on Australian TV.

Since then, they’ve kept a slightly lower profile, forging successful interior design careers off the back of their Block success

In 2016 a treechange beckoned, the couple selling up their two-bedroom Potts Point apartment to relocate to a $2.7 million 10 acre property in Queensland, where they’ve been living the quiet life ever since.

“I've always said to Warren I feel as though we belong back in the country somewhere,” Gav told Daily Mail Australia back in December 2016.

“We've bought and sold in Sydney and they've been beautiful apartments, but for some reason I wasn't exactly happy there.”

Needless to say, the property was the perfect backdrop for their wedding.

“These days we love living in the country and so we wanted the whole experience to be surrounded with the incredible natural beauty that surrounds us,” they told The Daily Telegraph. “The sound of Beauty Falls that borders our property provided the perfect background sounds for our wedding.”
