I'm inspired by the world and its amazing culture; I love the feel of clay and love creating new things.
In 1994 I studied Fine Art Ceramics at R.M.I.T for 3 years. I then went on the travel around the world where I gathered a lot of influences and inspiration in New Mexico, Mexico, Middle East and Europe.
I work from my home studio in Melbourne and have just started selling my ceramics. I am the sole creator in my studio, employing a range of methods mostly hand building. I used stoneware earthenware blend clay. I hand paint with underglazes and then glaze fire to 1200 degrees. I hand roll decorative wall hanging crosses, cows skulls, hamsa and bowls. Each peice is individual handmade and hand painted their own unique qualities.
In 2014 I started up a new venture Carla Dinnage , offering a wide range of beautifully coloured hand designed unique one off homeware pieces. I am continuing to developed and grow my ceramic range as I move forward to try and create new and unique work.
